what to do?

While browsing the internet today I ran across this article on a blog.

The mother in the article describes her five year-olds Halloween experience. Her son begged her to go as Daphne from Scooby-doo and when he showed up at school in costume, it was the other mothers who put up the biggest protest.

It really disturbs me that grown women could be so cruel to a young child. In light of the recent flood of suicides by gay teens, this incident is especially poignant.

“If my daughter had dressed as Batman, no one would have thought twice about it. No one.”

This is one of my favorite quotes from the article because it really illustrates the inconsistencies in our logic on gender.

It breaks my heart that people can be so cruel. Even if you have a serious problem with the way someone is living their life, you never have any right to bully them in this way.

This story from ABC is about the recent suicides around the U.S. Five in three weeks, this is not okay…
